My Mission
Cool School With Ms. Maria is an entertaining, educational program that promotes education in a fun, positive manner interacting with local community children and beyond.
My vision is to touch children’s lives through media, music, video, and/or “live” performances interacting with them as they captivatingly watch or listen. Whether performing virtually or performing live, children are my focus. I want them to “fall in love” with education as it helps to improve the quality of their lives.

Who is Ms Maria?
Maria Smith is a veteran educator of 29 years. She has two adult sons and in addition to being a mother and an educator, she has been entertaining and speaking for 19 years. She graduated with a B.S. Ed. degree from Baylor University in Elementary Education with a specialization in Reading and a Kindergarten endorsement. She graduated from Tarleton State University with an M.Ed. in Educational Curriculum: Instructional Design/Technology.

Maria is also a published author. Some of her publications include: Mouldy Mummy Jokes, The American Civil War: Why and How, many poems in variation publications, educational activity books, and children's plays.

Ed. and M.Ed., Nominated for "Who's Who Among American Colleges/Universities," "Who's Who Among American Teachers," nominated for Disney Teacher of the Year, Deer Creek Elementary Teacher of the Year, Elementary School Talent Show producer, member of Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society, past president of Iota Pi chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, speaker and presenter at educational conferences, activities, and organizations.

Performer at various libraries across Texas including Athens, Fort Worth, Dallas, Henderson County, Whitney, Palestine, Honey Grove, Chico, Waco, Whitney, Moody, Lago Vista, Paris, Texarkana, Southlake, Irving, Hughes Springs, Boyd, Longview, Chandler, Hillsboro,Seymour, Vernon, Ponder, Prosper, Bremond, and more. Performer at various Primrose Schools, Children's Courtyards, Children's Lighthouses, Children's Spot, Allison's Clubhouse, Kids R Love, and Miss Bloomingdale's Academy. Maria has also performed at numerous Nursing Homes and Rehabs in the DFW Metroplex and south.
